Saying Hello To Lyle

So Lyle, its been a while since we’ve chatted – tell us about the Four Gables lifestyle! What happens when you aren’t running events?

When I’m not knee-deep in timelines, table plans, or tasting menus, I’m usually still doing something that feeds into the Four Gables mindset. I love discovering new venues, testing new dishes, scouting interesting spaces, and generally keeping a pulse on what makes experiences memorable. Inspiration for great events rarely happens behind a desk.

There’s definitely a balance though. I’m a big believer that the best events are created by people who actually enjoy life outside of them, so I make time for good food, good music, travel, and the occasional switch off day. That said, even when I’m “off,” my brain is usually coming up ideas for the next corporate launch, brand activation, or celebrations we can elevate.

In short, the Four Gables lifestyle doesn’t really switch off. It just changes scenery.

We’ve heard there are some fluffy friends at Four Gables HQ and you are their biggest fan! Tell us more.

Yes, our unofficial Head Office Team are three Valais Black nose sheep called Tina, Jeffery, and Bob, and I won’t lie, they’re arguably the most popular members of Four Gables. They don’t answer emails, they’re terrible at logistics, and they have yet to assist with a event load in… but what they do bring is pure joy, character, and a reminder that personality is everything in teams and in events.

They live on our farm and have become a bit of a signature talking point for clients and guests who visit. In a strange way, they actually reflect our approach to events: memorable details matter, charm counts, and people always connect with something authentic and a little unexpected.

And after a high-pressure event, there’s nothing quite like decompressing with three extremely fluffy, extremely unbothered team mates.

You’ve been here for some time now and I’m sure you’ve seen all sorts of events – tell us what your favourite has been?

That’s a tough one because every event has its own personality and honestly, that’s what keeps this industry so addictive. I’ve worked on everything from elegant private celebrations to high-energy brand days and large corporate events, and each brings a different kind of energy.

If I had to choose, my favourites are always the ones where you can feel the transformation happen, when a blank space turns into a fully immersive experience and the client’s vision comes to life in real time. Corporate events are especially exciting in that sense because they combine creativity with precision. You’re not just creating something beautiful you’re delivering strategy, brand storytelling, guest experience, and flawless logistics all at once.

Four Gables are often running weddings but thats not it is it? Can you tell us a bit more… where else can we expect to see you and the team?

Weddings are definitely a big part of what we do, and we love them. They’re emotional, personal, and full of unforgettable moments. But they’re really just one chapter of the story. Behind the scenes, Four Gables is delivering a huge range of events across the calendar, especially in the corporate and brand world.

You’ll often find us working on launches, VIP hospitality, private client experiences, brand activations, awards dinners, and company celebrations. Those events are where our logistical and creative brains really get to flex tight timelines, complex menus, multiple suppliers and are the kind of challenges we genuinely thrive on.

In truth, we’re less about what type of event it is and more about how it’s delivered. Whether it’s a wedding, a luxury dinner, or a corporate showcase, you can expect the same thing from us, creative thinking, calm execution, and a team that treats every event like it’s the only one in the world.

Enough about work, when we last spoke you mentioned your love for travelling the world. Have you been anywhere exciting recently?

Absolutely, travel is one of my biggest sources of inspiration. Even though most of my time is spent making other people’s events awesome, I always try to carve out moments to explore new cultures, cuisines, and experiences.

Recently, I’ve been exploring a mix of city and beach escapes, from wandering through the art and design districts of Spain to hiking hidden alleys with my Fiancé where ever there’s a calling. There’s something about seeing how different places approach food, hospitality, and gatherings that sparks ideas I can bring back to Four Gables.

For me, travel isn’t just a break from work, its research, inspiration, and a reminder that experiences are what people remember long after the event ends. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to test my skills at finding the world’s best coffee and pastries along the way.
